Blue Heron Bridge Park Access & Safety
The Blue Heron Bridge shore dive is located at Phil Foster Memorial Park in Riviera Beach. Check park access, current rules and posted conditions before you travel, then read the on-site signs and markers when you arrive.
Where diving is permitted
Palm Beach County currently lists scuba diving at Phil Foster Memorial Park from sunrise to sunset outside the guarded swimming area. Swimming is restricted to the designated guarded area. Keep the dive plan within the marked dive zones, and never enter the guarded swim area or active navigation channel.
Park rules, access and conditions can change. Follow current signs and staff directions on site. The Stuart Scuba map is for orientation and is not a substitute for the current county map.
Entry, exit and boat traffic
The site map shows diver entry and exit areas, a swim buoy, vessel exclusion boundaries and the navigation channel. Palm Beach County's current map provides separate entry and exit guidance for incoming and outgoing tide and warns of strong currents. Follow that current guidance rather than choosing a route from a simplified image.
- Agree with your buddy on entry, exit, route and a back-up plan before gearing up.
- Stay outside marked vessel exclusion zones and clear of navigation channels and boat traffic.
- Keep clear of anglers, lines and the old fishing pier; do not interfere with park users.
- Use appropriate surface signaling and comply with current diver-down flag rules.
- Stop and change plans if access, current or other conditions are unsafe.
Shore access is separate from a boat trip
Phil Foster Memorial Park is the shore-entry site. Stuart Scuba's Blue Heron Bridge night dive listing is a separate, scheduled boat trip with its own meeting point, times and booking requirements. Check the trip details before you go so you arrive at the correct location.
