To get started with your SCUBA adventure, call the store today. Our experienced SCUBA instructors and staff will arrange your course materials or direct you to our e-learning website where the click of your mouse can start you on your way to a lifetime of fun and new discoveries. Group Classes are available and are a wonderful way to meet people and find a dive buddy. Private instruction is also available and family groups are always welcome.

Getting Started

Learning to SCUBA dive will open an entirely different perspective for you. A new and amazing world that lets you feel weightless while experiencing exciting adventures and enjoying the company of family and friends, old and new.

Start your Open Water Scuba Diver course and master all the important academic information online and with classes at Stuart Scuba. You can complete this phase through self-study, at your own pace, in the convenience of your home or office.  All eLearning courses can be done on your computer or mobile and tablet devices.

The next step will be to complete your in-water skill-development training. This takes place in a swimming pool or similar body of confined water, under the supervision of our Instructors and Divemaster’s.  The final step is to complete the required number of open-water training dives under the supervision of our Instructor. The first two dives will be at the Blue Heron Bridge. This site has been rated the number one shore dive in the USA. Your final two dives will be on one of our Coast Guard inspected charter vessels. Here you will apply what you have learned during your academic and skill-development sessions, while learning practical lessons that can only be gained through real-world experience in open water.

Our Open water class is your first step into the great exploration of our seas and lakes. This will be one of the most spectacular lifelong adventures one will have.

The Fine Print:

  • All students are responsible for completing either printed course materials or an eLearning curriculum.
  • Stuart Scuba’s dive training includes the cost of any necessary boat dives to complete the course in our recreational classes.
  • Those that purchase traditional course materials will be required to attend a 4hr classroom review prior to pool instruction.
  • Those that purchased eLearning course materials will be required to attend a 2.5hr classroom review prior to pool instruction.
  • Students will need to provide their own mask, fins, boots and snorkel, which our staff can gladly help you choose for the best comfort and fit for you.
  • Stuart Scuba and its Professional Scuba Instructors want your Scuba diving experience to be extraordinary. In an effort to be prepared, please review the Student Registration and Medical Statement relevant to your specific certifying agency (NAUI, SDI, TDI or PADI).
  • Answering YES to any question on the medical statement doesn’t automatically disqualify you from diving. It only means that you have a preexisting condition which your instructor needs to be aware of that could interfere with your safety while SCUBA diving. If thought necessary, your Physician may need to sign the Physicians release portion of the medical statement prior to any in water instruction.
