The Enriched Air Nitrox Course at Stuart Scuba teaches you to analyze enriched air, set a Nitrox-capable computer, and plan within oxygen exposure limits. Nitrox can extend no-decompression time on some dive profiles, but it does not guarantee longer dives. Whether you’re newly certified through our Open Water Course or advancing with our Advanced Open Water Course, this course is ideal for extending your underwater experiences. After booking, your instructor will send about two hours of home-study materials and help schedule a one-to-two-hour in-store session. Your course includes a two-tank boat dive with aluminum 80 Nitrox tanks.

What is an enriched air Nitrox course?

You’ll learn to analyze and plan dives using a breathing gas with more oxygen than standard air. We offer SDI and SSI certification options.

Does Nitrox automatically make a dive safer?

At some depths, an appropriate Nitrox mix can increase no-decompression limits compared with air. Your allowable limit depends on the mix, depth, computer, and dive plan.

Does this course include boat diving?

Yes. After you book, your instructor will send the home-study materials, which take about two hours to complete.

How long is the in-store class?

Plan for an interactive in-store session of about one to two hours after you complete the study materials. We’ll help you schedule it.

Do I need a dive computer?

You’ll learn to configure a dive computer for Nitrox; contact us to confirm whether you should bring your own. For your open-water dive, bring personal SCUBA equipment: BCD, wetsuit, regulator with gauges, and compass. Tank rental and weights are included.

Will I learn to analyze a tank?

Yes. You’ll learn to use an oxygen analyzer and measure a cylinder’s oxygen content. Analyze and confirm every cylinder before using it.

What does the course currently cost?
